How to Prioritize Yourself This Valentine’s Day
This year, we’re taking Valentine’s Day into our own hands. Instead of waiting for someone else to make us feel special, we’re choosing to prioritize ourselves (although, if someone does want to shower us with love, we won’t turn that down!). Here are some ideas to help you create your best V-Day yet:
- Make it Palentine’s Day
Spending time with friends or family who truly support and uplift you is one of the best ways to feel loved on Valentine’s Day—or any day. Surround yourself with people who bring out the best in you! - Have an adventure
Break out of your usual routine and try something new. Whether it’s tasting a new food, catching a concert, or even going on a spontaneous weekend trip, do something that excites you and gets you out of your comfort zone. - Take a social media break
If you’re feeling down about Valentine’s Day, logging off for a while can be a great way to reset. You don’t need to see everyone’s cute couple photos—take some time for yourself instead. - Indulge your inner goblin
Treat yourself however you want! Eat cake for dinner, skip the utensils, or drive through for McDonald’s in your robe. Forget the rules—just enjoy the vibes. - Get physical
Whatever gets you moving, do it! Whether it’s dancing, yoga, or even a little “me time,” physical activity is a great way to boost your mood and feel good. - Write a love letter to yourself
The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself. Take a moment this Valentine’s Day to reflect on all the things you love about yourself. Write down your strengths, accomplishments, and the little things that make you uniquely you. Treat yourself with the kindness and encouragement you’d give someone you love. - Make it romantic
If you’ve ever wished someone would plan a romantic evening for you, this is your chance to do it for yourself. Light candles, sprinkle rose petals, draw yourself a luxurious bath, and pour yourself a glass of your favorite drink. You deserve it all.
